Take Care of Your SKIN!

I’m trying to be a bit more careful with my skin recently, as I have had a few breakouts which, despite being aesthetically unpleasing, soon have become a bit painful. I am not sure whether I am doing too little, too much or something in between, but I have seen improvements, so I will stick to this new skin routine.

Cleansers, Masks, Serum

I have an advantage in this sense, as my uncle is the owner and manager of the first organic certified spa, so he makes sure that any product that I’ll ever put on my skin is free from parabens, and any harmful substance. But let’s stick to the point. After I get back home, the first thing I do is removing my makeup of the day (very little, but still) with some natural cleaning wipes, then I use this spray from Lush which works as skin sanitizer. Once the product is absorbed, I complete the routine with Aromatherapy Associated’s Serum, which is insane.

Two or three times per week I also do a face scrub (using the Aromatherapy Associated’s Scrub — as good as the serum) and a mask. I like TheBodyShop ones (my favorite is the Himalayan Charcoal one), but I have currently run out of it, so I grabbed this one from Yves Rocher, and I can say I am quite satisfied.

Nutrition

I know I won’t tell you anything new when I say that nutrition really has to be on point for an optimum skin. I have started to pay more attention than usual to what I eat, especially with regards to macros (will talk more about this soon) and sugar, and I noticed my skin has improved. I try to incorporate 10 different kinds of fruit, veggies, legumes every day (it’s not as hard as it seems if you, let’s say, make a salad for lunch with carrots, eggplants, edamame, zucchini, a dollop of hummus. You have already hit 6 out of 10 I mean!), and I drink Kefir every morning. Yes, I find it disgusting, yes, I hate it, but it does miracles for gut health and skin problems.

It goes without saying that the first and foremost thing to do is drink plenty of water, stay hydrated (even if you don’t feel as thirsty as you used to during summer’s hotter days).
