Here’s to YOU. I want you to look at yourself in the mirror and see how far you’ve come this year. I want you to take the list of the goals you established at the beginning of the year and, by yourself, without the need to tell anyone, check them out.
I’m almost 100% sure, no-one of us has reached 100%. I didn’t. But here I am, one year older, wiser, I lived. I lived fully, this year as well. Things didn’t turn out the way I wanted and definitely I regret some decisions I have taken, but still, the destiny wanted me to go there, to do certain choices. As we say in Italian, quando si chiude una porta si apre un portone, which badly translated is “when a door closes, a bigger door opens”, basically if an opportunity didn’t come, a bigger, better, greater one will.
We are all busy at the end of the year and I, in first place, find it hard to think and figure out what I’m gonna do next year, what my plans are and what is best for me to do. I do believe, however, that we all need to take a few hours, maybe even before NYE, to figure out what is best for us to do, which goals we want to reach, which experiences we want to make, which decisions we want to take.
Here’s to you. On the sofa, with your pen and a journal, an empty one, ready to be fulfilled with new adventures.
Here’s to you. That glass of wine near your computer makes it easier to feel comfortable at taking some time off, doesn’t it?
Here’s to you. Under the rain, with a darker rain in your eyes. Why didn’t I make it for that? What is wrong with me? With that smartphone, 1% battery left, but I need to write it down, till the very last experience.
Here’s to you. Out there, running in the hot weather of South Africa, California, Brasil, Argentina, Australia thinking about other horizons you want to see.
Here’s to you. To your goals, the achieved ones and the unachieved. Here’s to you. To a new year full of experiences.
Take some time off for real in the next 2 weeks. There’s a new adventure about to start here, make the most out of it. Be prepared. Be ready. There is a world out there!
Have A Safe Journey!
